Dr. Stephen Russo has worked as an applied sport psychologist since 1998, serving as the Director of Sport Psychology at two world-class training facilities. At the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) – Center for Sports Medicine, Dr. Russo was a performance consultant to the athletic departments at the University of Pittsburgh, Robert Morris University, and Duquesne University and also worked as a consultant to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, the City of Pittsburgh Marathon, and UPMC’s National Football League

Dr. Russo is a Credentialed ImPACT Consultant, with specific training
and expertise in the management of sport-related concussion.
Through his training with the Directors of the NFL and NHL concussion management programs and his use of the Immediate Post- Concussion
Assessment and Cognitive Testing (ImPACT) software, Dr. Russo can help misunderstood recovery process of sports-related concussion.
(NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL) Combine Preparation Programs. Most recently, Dr. Russo was the staff sport psychologist at the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA) in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he worked with elite junior golfers as well as touring professionals from virtually every competitive tour around the globe. In addition to providing performance enhancement services to players from the PGA, LPGA, and Nationwide Tours, he has worked with USGA champions as well as players on the various European professional tours.
As an active member of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and the Sport & Exercise Division of the on mental training and peak performance. He has worked extensively with elite athletes, coaches, and teams from a variety of sports at the high school, college, and professional level. And when coordinating applied sport psychology services, Dr. Russo works to help athletes develop a competitive mindset, overcome personal obstacles to peak performance, and cope more effectively with the pressure of competition. While most athletes recognize the countless h ours training their body without devoting sufficient time or the pressure of competition.
Dr. Russo was born and raised in Philadelphia and is thrilled to be back home to the city of brotherly love.
